The cheapest VPS you can run in a Singapore data center is UpCloud's Starter 1 GB at $3.36 a month (€3.00), billed by the hour. If you want more than 1 GB of RAM, OVHcloud's VPS-1 gives you 4 GB and 2 vCPUs for $5.03 a month at a flat price that doesn't rise on renewal.
We checked these prices on 6 October 2026, at the shortest billing term, so no plan in the table needs a long prepayment. Providers that bill in euros are converted to US dollars at the day's rate (about $1.12 per euro), so their dollar price moves a little with the exchange rate.
How we picked these plans
We count cloud servers as VPS here: a 1 GB DigitalOcean Droplet and a 1 GB "VPS" do the same job. But many hosts list Singapore somewhere on their site without offering every product there, or charge more there. So we only kept plans where the provider's own region list, order page or pricing data confirms that exact product in Singapore at the price shown: UpCloud's price calculator (zone sg-sin1), DigitalOcean's regional availability page (SGP1), Vultr's public plans API, Linode's regions and pricing API, Lightsail's region list (ap-southeast-1), OVHcloud's VPS order catalog, Contabo's order page, netcup's VPS page, Scaleway's Dedibox VPS location list, hosting.com's self-managed VPS page and Bluehost's announcement of its Singapore VPS location.

"Hourly" means you pay only for the hours the server exists, up to the monthly price shown, so you can create one for a test and delete it the same day. All of these are unmanaged: you get root access and look after the operating system yourself.
A word on the 512 MB plans: half a gigabyte is tiny. It is enough for a VPN endpoint, a small proxy or a cron job, but a WordPress site or a database will struggle. For most uses, start at 1 GB.
Cheapest overall: UpCloud Starter 1 GB
UpCloud's Starter plan has 1 vCPU, 1 GB of RAM and 10 GB of SSD for €3.00 a month, billed hourly. UpCloud charges the same price in Singapore as in its European zones. The disk is small, so it suits a lightweight service better than a site with lots of uploads.
The big cloud names at $5
Vultr, Linode and Lightsail all start at $5.00 a month in Singapore, billed hourly, at the same price as their US and European regions. Vultr and Linode give you 1 GB of RAM and 25 GB of SSD. Lightsail's $5 plan has only 512 MB of RAM, but 2 vCPUs and 20 GB of SSD; its 1 GB plan is $7.00. DigitalOcean's 1 GB Droplet is $6.00.
Most RAM for the money: OVHcloud VPS-1 and VPS-2
OVHcloud's VPS-1 costs $5.03 a month (€4.49) with 2 vCPUs, 4 GB of RAM and 40 GB of NVMe, four times the RAM of the cloud plans around it, and it renews at the same price. Pay for 12 months and it drops to €3.81 a month, about $4.27. VPS-2, with 4 vCPUs and 8 GB, is $9.52 (€8.49).
One thing to know about Singapore specifically: OVHcloud's VPS in Asia-Pacific come with a monthly traffic quota of 500 GB on VPS-1 and 1 TB on VPS-2. Past that, bandwidth is capped at 10 Mbps. For a website or an API that is plenty; for file downloads or video, it may not be.
Also worth a look
- Bluehost VPS NVMe 2: 2 GB of RAM for $4.99 a month, renewing at $5.99. Bluehost added Singapore as a VPS location in 2026 at the same price as its other locations.
- netcup VPS 500 G12.5: 2 vCPUs, 4 GB and 64 GB of SSD for $8.95 (€7.98) a month, or €5.90 a month on a 24-month contract (about $6.61).
- Contabo Cloud VPS 4: 4 vCPUs and 8 GB for €5.50 a month, plus a Singapore location fee that Contabo's order page showed as €3.10 a month, about $9.64 in total.
Plans we left out
Hetzner's cloud servers are available in Singapore, but Hetzner prices them higher there than in Germany: its CPX12 costs €15.99 a month in Singapore against €11.99 in Germany, which puts it outside this list. Hostinger's VPS is not offered in Singapore according to Hostinger's own location list. We couldn't confirm OVHcloud's Public Cloud Discovery instances or Scaleway's PRO and STORE VPS ranges in Singapore, so they are out too.
How to choose
- Pick the RAM first. 512 MB and 1 GB plans are cheapest but limited. If you need 4 GB, OVHcloud VPS-1 at $5.03 is cheaper than any 1 GB plan from the big clouds.
- Check the traffic allowance and location fees. Some providers treat Singapore differently from their European locations, with traffic quotas (OVHcloud) or a location fee (Contabo).
- Use hourly billing to test. Spin up a server on UpCloud, Vultr or Linode, check latency to your users, and delete it if it doesn't fit.
The bottom line
The cheapest Singapore VPS is UpCloud's Starter 1 GB at $3.36 a month, billed hourly. The big clouds (Vultr, Linode, Lightsail, DigitalOcean) start at $4 to $6 for 512 MB to 1 GB. For real headroom, OVHcloud's VPS-1 gives you 4 GB of RAM for $5.03 a month at a price that doesn't change on renewal.
