SiteGround StartUp costs $3.99 a month for the first year and renews at $17.99 a month, a 351% increase. GrowBig goes from $6.69 to $29.99, and GoGeek from $10.69 to $44.99.
We checked these prices on 6 October 2026. In percentage terms, SiteGround's renewal jumps are among the steepest of any host we track, so it pays to know the year-two number before you sign up.
SiteGround renewal prices, plan by plan
SiteGround sells its shared plans (Web Hosting, WordPress and WooCommerce) on a 12-month intro term. The 3-year cost below is the first year at the intro price plus two years at the renewal price.
| Plan | Intro price | Term | Renews at | Jump | 3-year cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| StartUp | $3.99/mo | 12 months | $17.99/mo | +351% | $479.64 |
| GrowBig | $6.69/mo | 12 months | $29.99/mo | +348% | $800.04 |
| GoGeek | $10.69/mo | 12 months | $44.99/mo | +321% | $1,208.04 |
| Cloud Jump Start | $100.00/mo | monthly | $100.00/mo | none | $3,600.00 |
| Cloud Business | $200.00/mo | monthly | $200.00/mo | none | $7,200.00 |
| Cloud Business Plus | $300.00/mo | monthly | $300.00/mo | none | $10,800.00 |
| Cloud Super Power | $400.00/mo | monthly | $400.00/mo | none | $14,400.00 |
The WordPress and WooCommerce versions of StartUp, GrowBig and GoGeek cost the same as the Web Hosting versions, intro and renewal.
What year two looks like
Because the intro price covers only the first 12 months, the renewal arrives quickly. When the term ends, SiteGround renews you for the same term length at the renewal price, so a 12-month plan renews as 12 months at the new rate:
- StartUp: $47.88 for year one, then $215.88 for year two.
- GrowBig: $80.28 for year one, then $359.88 for year two.
- GoGeek: $128.28 for year one, then $539.88 for year two.
In each case, year two costs about four and a half times as much as year one. Over three years, about 90% of what you pay for StartUp is renewal price.
Which plans have the smallest jump
Among the shared plans, the jumps are close: GoGeek rises 321%, GrowBig 348% and StartUp 351%. None of them is a small increase.
The only SiteGround plans with no jump are the Cloud plans, which are billed monthly at a flat price from $100.00 a month. They are a different product, aimed at sites that have outgrown shared hosting, so they are not a way around the renewal for a small site.
What you get for the price
The plans differ mostly in size:
- StartUp: 1 website, 10 GB of SSD storage.
- GrowBig: 50 GB of SSD storage.
- GoGeek: 100 GB of SSD storage.
All three include unlimited email accounts per domain, and SiteGround offers a 30-day refund.
At renewal, StartUp's $17.99 a month is the number to compare with other hosts, not the $3.99. For reference, Hostinger Premium, which hosts 3 sites, renews at $10.99 a month and Bluehost Starter at $9.99 a month on their long terms (see our Hostinger and Bluehost renewal guides).
How to pay less at SiteGround
- Start with the smallest plan that fits. If you have one site under 10 GB, StartUp's renewal is $12.00 a month less than GrowBig's. Upgrading later is easier than paying for room you don't use.
- Set a reminder for month 11. Your renewal is a single payment of $215.88 on StartUp. Decide before it is charged, not after.
- Ask before you renew. Contact support a few weeks before the renewal date and ask if a lower rate is available. The worst answer is no.
- Be ready to move. A small WordPress site can be moved to another host in an afternoon, and most hosts' intro prices are well below SiteGround's renewal prices.
The bottom line
SiteGround's intro prices are low for one year only. StartUp costs $47.88 for the first year and $479.64 over three, because it renews at $17.99 a month. If you choose SiteGround, choose it for what you get at the renewal price, and plan for that price from day one.
